The U.S. Congress is due to decide Wednesday on a series of spending bills to help fund President Donald Trump’s agenda. He said last month he wanted to eliminate the State Department budget, and that the budget of the U.S. consulate in Jerusalem had grown $1 billion during a two-year period under the Obama administration.<\/p>\n The bill authorizing spending for fiscal 2017 also includes $40 million for the State Department to work with other foreign countries to improve Internet security, a major effort to try to improve online security.<\/p>\n Israeli Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Emmanuel Nahshon told the AP Thursday that there are “no direct talks” between the U.S. and Iran about nuclear negotiations and the two sides are in frequent contact on Iran’s nuclear program.<\/p>\n The State Department has also recently announced it is planning to make the U.S\uacbd\uc8fc\uc548\ub9c8<\/a>. embassy in Tel Aviv the world’s largest U.S. embassy by 2020 and to host a second embassy in Jerusalem, which has become a strategic spot for Iran.
